Shri’s Ecstasy Candles
I’m Shrinithi Sathish Kumar a 24-year-old girl from the district of Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu and D/O Dr. V. Sathish Kumar and Priya Sathish. Though I’m an engineer by profession my trajectory has always been towards art due to my passion since childhood. I remember playing with colours as a 4-year-old making small greeting cards for people on their birthdays. Whenever I do something related to art, I’ve always felt celestial and effervescent. I keep exploring different artforms from time to time and I’m a self-taught artist as well.
In 2017 I started exploring the world of zentangle, until then I was doing pencil sketches and stuff like that. Zentangle is an artform where we focus on creating structured patterns and designs mindfully. When I started doing zentangle I discovered that it was just patterns in black and white. I was drawing a couple of them like that and then got jaded, hence I started giving an Indian touch to them by adding vibrant colours and lots of stones to make them look allure. Not to mention that zen was a huge stress buster for me at that time. And certainly, that was my impetus to explore more into the world of art. I started working on other art forms like mandala art, dot mandala, fluid art, abstract art, stippling art and a few paintings as well. Within a span of 6 to 7 months I did around 170-180 artworks in various mediums. Followed by a few events I got this amazing opportunity to showcase my talents at the Maison Colambani art gallery, Alliance Francaise, Pondicherry. It was my very first solo exhibition called MERAKI held there on May 19th 2018 – may 27th 2018 with around 100 of my artworks. The event was graced by the presence of the HONOURABLE CM OF PONDICHERRY N. RANGASWAMY SIR, R. Radhakrishnan sir MP Pondicherry, M. C. Sampath sir Industrial Minister and G R. Durairaj sir Grk estates Cuddalore. Zen did give me a huge opportunity to meet the most idealistic woman of India FORMER LT. GOVERNOR OF PUDUCHERRY SHRI. KIRAN BEDI MAM. Little did I know that my love for art would take me a long way I was later working on massive pieces of Indian zen, well that’s how I like to call them. The field of art exceeds an ocean, I keep on learning new techniques and try new art forms. Imagination motivates me the most, and creating things than can’t be visualised by everyone is one of my favourite aspects of being an artist.
My ideal is to keep working on new stuff every single day so that I don’t get jaded easily and feel stunned to look at my new creation every single time. In 2021 I was intrigued to explore more art forms I started by doing resin art, alcohol ink art and a few candles. Followed by macramé the art of threads, terrazzo and mirror mosaic. In the month of Dec, 2021, I started making pure soy wax candles again but this time they were not the regular ones but I started making a complete range of gourmet candles. I made a variety of cakes, ice creams, Indian sweets but all of them were candles. They we are all made with pure soy wax and premium quality scents. It sorta helped me break the clutches about how I was feeling at that time. Basically, I Channelise my emotions into my artwork’s happiness, sadness, anger you name it and each of my work has a story to tell you. And thus, it led to the launch of SHRI’S ECSTASY CANDLES. The products were once again launched by the HONOURABLE CM OF PUDUCHERRY N. RANGASWAMY sir, it was further supported by the Tourism Minister Shri. Lakshminarayanan sir, PWD Minister Theni. C. Jayakumar sir, Transport and Arts & Craft Minister Chandra Priyanka mam, R. Senthilkumar sir MLA Puducherry. It was a great start to my new brand and the candles started selling like hot cakes. Within 3 months I reached a pinnacle of being awarded the INDIAN DREAMER’S AWARD 2022 for the category of candle artist and zentangle artist. Within a short span now I’ve taken over 1000 orders and was also awarded the INDIAN WOMAN ENTREPRENEUR AWARD 2022 and TOP 10 EMERGING TALENTS OF INDIA 2022. Saving the best for the last none of this would’ve happened without the constant support of my parents.
I would like to thank each and every one who has been a part of my journey. I still believe this is all just the beginning and there’s much more to go. Beyond grateful for everything.
