Hi everyone! This is Debopriya Banerjee from Kolkata, the city of joy. I’m working as a freelance illustrator and animator. I do illustrations for kids story books, e-cards, caricatures, cartoons, mascot and character designs, logo designs and animations for explanatory videos or educational videos. Recently I have teamed up with my younger sister Debdisha to increase the production capacity. My sister is also an amazing artist.
Let me share with you my journey from Worthless to Precious I used to be an average student. Chemistry, physics and mathematics were like nightmares to me. So to some people I was a worthless student with no bright future.
I used to draw cartoon characters and patterns during my childhood days. And my Maa, Mrs. Papia Banerjee never wanted me to stop that. So after I cleared my ISC exam she gave me the idea of joining Arena Animation. And that idea changed my life. Maa herself is an amazing singer. But due to personal reasons she couldn’t get the opportunity or support to fulfill her dreams. At first most of my family members were not at all happy with my Mom’s decision of introducing me into the world of art and animation, since this concept was not clear to most of the Indians 13 years back. But gradually things changed when I started getting clients from abroad and some high profile clients from India like Dr. K.K Aggarwal, for designing the mascot of Perfect Health Mela and singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya for creating a motion graphics for Lokhandwala Durgotsav. Now I have clients in countries like US, UK, Thailand and South Africa.
So never stop dreaming. Listen to your heart and keep shining!
